I have an amazing ability to lose my keys. This is something that I have always done. At our house we have the sterotypical key-holding-thingy that we can hang our keys on, but I guess mine just get up and walk away in the middle of the night. It always seems like when I lose them, my wife is sleeping and I have to wake her up to help me find them. I have found them in all sorts of places: the refrigerator, my door, my sock drawer, and even in the sink. They are nearly alwasy misplaced.
There is an estimated 10 billion stars in the sky. That’s just mind boggeling to think of. The amazing thing is that God knows them all by name and none of them is missing. How awesome is that?
I come across so many people who feel insignificant. They don’t feel like they are important. They feel like God does not care. They feel like God didn’t put them up on that key-holding-thingy. Here’s the thing: God knows who you are and he cares for you more than you can fathom. You are not misplaced like a set of keys.
Take comfort that the creator of the universe will not and has not ever misplaced you. You are way too valuable for Him to do that.
we have read that passage from Isaiah during our latest Shabbat Shalom retreat… amazing, astounding, and awesome God that we’re serving
Zee you are too kind. I have found myself recently drawn to Isaiah
In the refrigerator? Hmmm that sounds like blame time on the son.
Good post Michael. I like the idea that I am not lost nor misplaced. I am thrilled that no matter where I am or what I am doing God knows. “Where can I go from Him presence?”
Thank you bill.
Amen! Isn’t our God amazingly awesome!
He truly is amazing.
He sees, He hears, and He knows. In that truth is amazing comfort. Thank you. I love this analogy!
Jason, you are way too kind bro.
No, there are no missing human beings/characters in God’s book. I enjoyed reading this, especially since it boosted my confidence in self for the day. Praise God.
Jaycee, you words are timely. Thank you.
“Take comfort that the creator of the universe will not and has not ever misplaced you. You are way too valuable for Him to do that.”
I find great comfort in that! Thanks for the reminder!
Thx Kevin.
Jonah tried to escape the presence of God but could not – I thank God everyday that he is constantly keeping track of me – it is humbling to think.
Great post – definitely something I needed to hear!
We can try to explain the greatness of the Creator, but words fail. We can only try. You did well, Michael.
Thx Duane!
“You are not misplaced like a set of keys.”
He knows where we are and where we will be, always. What an awesome reminder. Thank you, I’m glad I stopped by and I will be back!
Thank you for the kind words, I appreciate them. Look forward to hearing from you soon.
